SITUATION
Creating a new look and experience for a children's educational website and an app - hugely challenging project! As the primary users were children aged 3-6 years, it was paramount that the interface, experience and all interactions were as intuitive and engaging.
Most advanced pre-school platform in the MENA region; having redeveloped their other brands Al Jazeera wanted to refresh Baraem, their global pre-school media brand to re-establish dominance of their pre-school media content across 18 countries.
TASKS
To re-design the website and design a brand new mobile app for Premium Tier users; this required meticulous research and competitor analysis to make sure the users have the most intuitive and enjoyable experience.
ACTIONS
I implemented a complete onboarding strategy for a new subscription model tailored to customer needs in the MENA region. Delivering all of UX work (sitemaps, user journeys, etc.) for a suite of 12 games, a host of video shows and other interactive educational content. Additionally, I was in charge of UX work for the intelligent Account Management System that delivered content and personalisation on demand.
All user journeys were created to accommodate the user needs as well as ensure the upsell process is as seamless as possible.
RESULTS
The most advanced pre-school media channel in the world; content categories include games, videos, books, songs and activities. The UI is intuitive and engaging for the primary users and 300,000 subscribers in the first 3 months.
